The Ngoonbi Bibi Yungan – Great Start to Great Learning Program supports First Nations children, young people, and families to strengthen educational engagement, improve learning outcomes, and build lifelong pathways to further education, training, and employment. Through culturally grounded support, the program promotes early childhood development, school readiness, family engagement, Year 12 attainment, and successful transitions into future opportunities.

Bibi Yungan Great Start to Great Learning focuses on the following areas:

  • Supporting family engagement in learning and education opportunities.
  • Partnering with education providers to improve First Nations learning outcomes through targeted programs and interventions.
  • Delivering educational workshops and support for parents, carers, families, and community members.
  • Engaging Community Elders and promoting culturally safe learning environments that strengthen educational achievement and cultural identity.
  • Supporting early childhood development through playgroups and family-focused learning activities.
  • Assisting First Nations students to complete school and transition into leadership, training, employment, and further education.
  • Creating pathways to training, employment, and lifelong learning for young people and families. Providing flexible support, including transport assistance, to improve access to education and training opportunities.
