Sport and Recreation Program

The Sport and Recreation Engagement Officers currently engage over 150 children and youth.

Ngoonbi continues to effectively deliver the Sports and Recreation Program that employs three Sport and Recreation officers. The objective of the program is to engage community members from six years of age through to elders, during and after school hours into sporting activities. 

Activities are designed to enhance social participation, health and social and emotional well-being and include:

  • Multi-sports – AFL, Rugby, Touch
  • School lunchtime activities
  • School Holiday activities
  • After School sporting activities
  • Participate in Kuranda Family Fun Days
  • Walking groups
  • Cultural activities
  • PCYC 3 on 3 Basketball Competitions
  • PCYC Cups
